Embakasi East Member of Parliament (MP) Babu Owino has awarded two students from his constituency full scholarships for their secondary education.

The two students, Brian and Mercy, were unable to raise fees for their secondary education and their story went viral after it was aired on Citizen TV on Tuesday night, May 17.

The Embakasi lawmaker took to his socials on Wednesday to share a video where he met the two students together with their parents.

He said that he was not aware of the misfortunes of the students as he pledged to sponsor their secondary education.

“Following the story aired on Citizen TV yesterday about 2 students from Embakasi East who have lacked fees to join FORM 1 that I was not aware of, I have today met the students with their parents and awarded them full scholarship for their Secondary School education. May God bless my people of Embakasi East Republic,” he stated.

The lawmaker said that he took the move because the two were bright students with a promising future. Brian aspires to be a surgeon, while Mercy wants to pursue law.

Babu Owino further promised to give two other students from his constituency full scholarships for secondary education.
