The Standard Media Group has announced changes and new appointments to its editorial staff.

The Standard Media Group has made changes to its editorial staff in preparation for August 9 general election.

In a memo by the media group’s Editor in Chief Ochieng Rapuro on Friday, the Mombasa Road-based media house made the move to address staff gaps in its converged newsroom.

According to Rapuro, the media giant made an internal advertisements for staffs resulting in new appointments and changes in staff.

Among the new appointments were Augustine Oduor, who was confirmed as the City Editor, and Shisi Wasilwa who was appointed the Kiswahili Programme Editor.

Other appointments and new changes are as follows:

1. Patrick Alushula - Acting Checkpoint Editor.

2. Harold Odhiambo – Staff Reporter, Kisumu Bureau.

3. Clement Masombo – Staff Reporter, Radar desk.

4. Natha Ochunge – Staff Reporter, City desk.

5. Edwin Nyarangi – Staff Reporter, Politics Desk.

6. Nancy Nzau – Staff Reporter, City Desk.

7. David Njaaga – Staff Reporter, Radar Desk

8. Saada Hassan – Transferred to Mombasa Bureau (Health and Science Reporter)

9. Chebet Birir – Transferred to City Desk as reporter.

10. Waunaina Wambu – Moved to subeditor role, Economy Desk. (former economy reporter)

11. Lollita Bunde – Moved to subeditor role, Entertainment. (former entertainment reporter)

12. Frankline Sunday – Senior Data Journalist, Checkpoint Desk
