Isaiah 1: 18 which the DP quoted passes a completely different message.

Deputy President William Ruto has sparked massive reactions on social media after he quoted a wrong bible verse.

While quoting Isaiah 1: 18, the DP said: "the bible says, we have fallen short".

Seemingly, the DP in his address passed a message that reflects Romans 3:23 which says "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God's glorious standard".

Isaiah 1: 18 which the DP quoted passes a completely different message.

It says: " “Come now, let us settle the matter,”  says the Lord. “Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool".

Kenyans took to social media to react to slight mistakes with some attacking him.

Here are reactions from Kenyans:

Wahome Thuku

Saying it so easily and smoothly that only an quick thinker will tell that he has no idea what that verse says. That is how he fooled Mt Kenya for 9 years

Murage Van Murash

Am not a politician but in a sober mind, he just said leaders have fallen short of what Isaiah 1:18 wants. They're never reasoning together as the Lord wants.

Jame Jamoo

That politeness, ease and smoothness while speaking is only on that podium. You will know his true colours some hours later at a campaign rally hurling insults to his opponents and you will wonder whether he is the same person.

Mburu Ngugi

He knew some Kenyans won't mind whatever he says provided he started with Bwana Yesu asifiwe.
