The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party has announced the death of Rabai Member of parliament (MP) William Kamoti. 

In an update on Twitter on Sunday evening, ODM said they had received the news of his death shortly after presenting his nomination papers to the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC). 

"It’s with shock and sadness that we as the ODM Party have received the news of the untimely death of our MP for Rabai, Hon. William Kamoti, shortly after presenting his nomination papers to IEBC. We stand with the people of Rabai. Rest in Peace Hon. Kamoti," ODM said in a statement.

In videos seen by Nairobileo.co.ke, the MP was involved in a nasty road accident along the Kilifi-Mombasa highway. 

Police and ambulance at the scene could be seen collecting his body and the wreckage of the vehicle the deceased was driving.
