Police are probing an incident where a man is said to have lost Sh5 million while on a short call.

Businessman Mathew Githinji is reported to have withdrawn the money from at least three banks.

He then placed the cash in his car and drove to a public toilet to respond to a call of nature.

Upon arrival, he was shocked to discover the cash was missing from his car. His car was broken into.

In related news, police are hot on trail of a house-help who allegedly stole Sh4 million and jewellery worth Sh500,000 from the house of National Treasury Chief Administration Secretary Nelson Gaichuhie.

Gaichuhie and his wife Charity Waithera had left for work on Wednesday and when coming back on the same day, they found their house help Miriam Mwelu Muinde missing.

The wife is reported to have been the one who rushed to the wardrobe to confirm whether their cash was still there.

The CAS told the police they had left Sh6 million in the house only to find Sh4m missing.

Police said there was no breaking into the wardrobe meaning it was easily accessible for the house girl.
