Caleb Amisi: Every time I come to launch something in my constituency, I have to be countered by irate youth yet after five years, you will say I did not perform. I come to launch a school and youth beat me up and chase me away.

Saboti Member of Parliament Caleb Amisi has threatened to resign over what he terms as consistent attack by his constituents.

According to the legislator, irate youth in the constituency always attack him every time he has a project in the area.

He divulged that the most recent attack happened as he was launching an administration complex at Masinde Muliro Secondary School.

After launching the project, an irate of group of youth reportedly attacked and beat him up.

The youthful MP noted that he is tired of working for the electorate but they are not appreciating.

He reported the incident to the police and investigations have commenced.

"I would not have gone to the police if I had not been beaten up. I was beaten and even injured and this should not continue. I do not have to be a Member of Parliament. If beating me is what it means to be an MP, then I would rather resign and go back home to my wife and children," he said.

"Every time I come to launch something in my constituency, I have to be countered by irate youth yet after five years, you will say I did not perform. I come to launch a school and youth beat me up and chase me away… I have helped so many youth in this constituency. I not only use funds given to me by the government but also from my salary,” he added.
