Kenya has recorded 551 more Covid-19 positive cases from a sample size of 4,075 in the last 24 hours.

Health CAS Dr Rashid Aman announced that the total number of infections in the country now stands at 84,169.

An additional 266 patients have recovered from the disease with 206 from the Home-Based Care Program, while 60 have been discharged from various hospitals.

The total number of recoveries now stands at 18,146.

"5 patients have succumbed to the disease bringing the cumulative fatalities to 1,474. Our sincere condolences to the families and friends of those who have lost their loved ones," Dr Aman said.

The Ministry of Health reported that Nairobi and Mombasa counties continue to record high infection rate.
