The Mathira MP claimed that President Kenyatta tried to offer Kithure Kindiki a bribe.

Kenya Kwanza presidential running mate Rigathi Gachagua has sensationally claimed that President Uhuru Kenyatta tried to bribe Tharaka Nithi senator Kithure Kindiki.

Speaking at a rally on Saturday, July 2, the Mathira MP claimed that the President tried to bribe the senator to ditch Ruto's camp.

According to Gachagua, Kindiki was threatened to be ousted from his Deputy Speaker position but failed to bow to the threats.

“Huyu profesa Kindiki aliitwa na Uhuru Kenyatta akaambiwa apewe pesa asaliti William Ruto akakataa. Akaambiwa asipoachana na William Ruto atanyang’anywa kiti ya deputy speaker. Akamuambia Uhuru achukue aende nayo,” Gachagua stated.

The Kenya Kwanza running mate praised Kindiki for his bravery, adding that it was why he was chosen to be Ruto’s agent in the August polls.

“Sasa tukasema yule ambaye hawezi uziwa uoga na ndio atasimamia kura ya William Ruto kama chief agent,” he added.

Speaking at the same rally, Kindiki asked the President not to annoy the DP’s camp maintaining that they will allow him to retire peacefully.

“William Ruto cannot do anything that can affect the dignity and stature of our retiring President. Tumemsamehea lakini hatutasahau ile mambo ametufanyia,” he said.

They were speaking during a Kenya Kwanza rally in Tharaka Nithi County where the Deputy President was in attendance.
