The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) disciplinary council has recommended hefty fines for a section of leaders; majorly MCAs from Nairobi County who were found guilty of misconduct.

In addition to the fine, eight of the twelve Ward Reps have also been slapped with a six-month suspension and removed from all committees at the assembly.

“Rebellious MCAs, majority of them from the County Assembly of Nairobi fined by the Disciplinary Committee of the party for various cases of gross misconduct,” ODM tweeted.

Meanwhile, Jubilee Party recently cracked the whip on three Nairobi MCAs found guilty of going against the party’s position.

The three; Ann Mumbi, Silvia Kihoro, and Millicent Jagero, were suspended for three months and de-whipped from committees they serve at the assembly.

The party's National Disciplinary Committee chaired by Muchai Lumatete said it had found the members guilty of all the charges.

"We have heard the complaints referred to this committee by the Chairman of the Party on November 23, 2020, and considered the facts as stated together with documents relied on in evidence by all parties and submissions made by Counsel appearing for the Charged members," stated Lumatete.
