Machakos Senator Boniface Mutinda Kabaka was on Friday rushed to the Nairobi Hospital ICU after collapsing at a Kilimani house alongside a lady friend.

Reports indicate that Senator Kabaka checked-in at the apartment on Elgeyo Marakwet Road on Thursday alongside the woman identified as Esther Muli.

While at the apartment, the Senator is reported to have complained about severe headache and requested for painkillers.

However, the pain persisted forcing the lady to seek help from the apartment management, who in turn called an ambulance.

The Senator was then taken to Nairobi Hospital and admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). By press time, there was no update on whether he had been released from ICU.

On learning about the admission, the senator’s wife reported the issue at the Kilimani police station

Following the complaint, the Kilimani DCI officers visited the apartment and secured evidence for analysis.

"The scene was processed by crime scene support services and evidence found at the scene forwarded to the Government analyst for analysis since most of them are perishable," the police incident report read as quoted by a local publication.

The DCI officers also interrogated the lady to establish what happened before the senator got ill.
