Tanga tanga, Kieleweke Leaders Engage in Fist Fight at Murang’a Funeral

A section of Jubilee leaders allied to the Kieleweke and Tanga tanga groups on Friday engaged in a bitter clash at a funeral service in Murang’a.

The leaders were attending a funeral service for five members of a family who died during a recent accident in Wote.

During the service, Kangema MP Muturi Kigano’ who is allied to the Kieleweke group appeared to mock Tanga tanga stating that no leader has the right to school other leaders on who to support.

“There are people telling us they are political geniuses and offering us guidance on where to belong politically. [They should know] we are educated and that after we are through supporting the President as he completes his tenure, we will converge in a political platform and decide on where to cast our votes,” he said as quoted by Nation.

Ndindi Nyoro’s Speech Cut Short

After his speech, he invited Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro of the Tanga tanga group, but he was interrupted by a former ward rep who demanded that he should ask for forgives over his past utterances.

The former Ward rep attacked Nyoro forcing his security detail to shield him. The attack prompted Nyoro’s supporters to move in and defend their leader.

It is at this point that the situation got worse with a section of leaders exchanging fists and blows.  Attempts by Senate Majority Whip Irungu Kanga’ta and Murang’a Woman Rep Sabina Chege to calm the the situation proved futile.

The violence prompted the family to move away from the service and straight to the burial site for the final session.
