After months of criticism, President Uhuru Kenyatta has finally explained why he deploys military personnel into public service.

On Monday during the Kenya ni Mimi launch at Bomas of Kenya, the President highlighted the attractive features among military personnel that land them in public service.

President Uhuru lauded the military for their core values of efficiency, discipline, and Integrity in fulfilling their national duties.

The president noted that the military could extend its mandate to improve the socio-economic conditions of the country.

He called on all Kenyans to exercise discipline and Integrity to execute their duties for a more prosperous Kenya.

"If all of us had the discipline, Integrity of our defense forces, Kenya ingekuwa mbali. I see the military continue to play a role in the social-economic development of our country. Youth should be more like them with how they conduct their day to day activities," said President Uhuru.

President Kenyatta has been positioning members of Kenya's defense forces in strategic projects of his administration since being elected for the second term.

Some of them include Former Chief of General staff Julius Karangi to the NSSF board, immediate former Chief of General staff Samson Mwathethe to the Kengen Board, and General Mohammed Badi Nairobi Metropolitan Service.
