Kenya recorded 244 new cases of the coronavirus  

Kenya recorded 244 new cases of the coronavirus from a sample size of 3,707 tested in the last 24 hours, bringing to 38,115 the total number of confirmed infections.

In a statement issued on Sunday by the Health Ministry, 228 are Kenyans while 16 are foreigners; 157 are males while 49 are females.

According to MoH, the youngest patient is a 3-month- old infant and while the oldest is 85-years-old.

The Health Ministry announced 40 new recoveries with 30 being patients who were under the home-based care while 10 were discharged from various hospitals.

The death toll in the country also increased to 691 after 2 more patients succumbed to the virus.

Nairobi 63, Nakuru 58, Kisil 23, Garissa 16, Kisumu 14, Mombasa 13, Kiambu 10, Busia 9, Trans Nzoia 7, Turkana 6, Kajlado 5, Kericho 5, Uasin Gishu 2, Narok 2, Laikipia 2, Siaya 2, Kakamega 1 Marsabit 1, Bungoma 1, Meru 1, Murang’a 1, Nyeri 1 and Tharaka Nithi 1.

The 63 cases in Nairobi, are from Starehe (13), Dagoretti North (9) Embakasi East (8) Westlands (7) Kasarani (5) Dagoretti South (4Kibra and Lang’ata (3) cases each.

Embakasi South,Embakasi West, Kamukunji and Ruaraka (2) recorded cases each while Makadara, Mathare and Roysambu (1) case each.

In Nakuru, the 58 cases are from Nakuru East (39), Navasha (9), Nakuru west and Rongai (3) cases each, Njoro (2), Gilgil and Subukia (1) case each.
