A gang of eight robbers on Monday morning raided businessman Manu Chandaria’s Muthaiga home and stole property of unknown value.

According to the police, the gang did not harm anyone but parted with cash and jewelry.

The gang reportedly disarmed a police officer guarding the premises and tied three watchmen before making way with the valuables.

Police have commenced investigations with preliminary reports indicating that it could have been an inside job.

“We are investigating the incident. We will know the truth in a short while,” Nairobi Police Commander Rashid Yakub said.

He further noted that the gunmen escaped through the Karura Forest, adding that some are nursing gun wounds.
