Nyali MP Mohammed Ali has now claimed that Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho wanted to stab him with a knife.

According to the legislator, the incident happened on Tuesday during the Msambweni by-election that was marred with chaos pitting ODM candidate Omar Boga and independent candidate Feisal Bader.

Ali claimed that Joho was accompanied by a section of youth who smashed his car after following him to his vehicle. The MP recorded a statement with the police after the incident.

"Hassan Ali Joho that was an attempted murder. You wanted to stab me with a knife. Cheap politics. Grow up and have a life!," Part of Ali's statement read.
