"You have inspired a generation of great female anchors," CS Namwamba.

The Cabinet Secretary for Youth Affairs and Sports Ababu Namwamba has paid a glowing tribute to legendary News Anchor Catherine Kasavuli.

The CS on Saturday, December 3, visited Kasavuli at the Kenyatta National Hospital where she is recuperating and said a word of prayer with her.

Catherine holds the crown as the 1st female TV anchor in Kenya and is credited with breaking the glass ceiling for female TV journalists in the country.

"You have inspired a generation of great female anchors. Your influence on our female journalists can never be matched. May God give you healing, so that you can continue to mentor our girls," Namwamba stated.

"Let us do coffee, once I'm out of here," Kasavuli told CS Namwamba during his visit.

Kasavuli began her career as a radio continuity announcer in 1980 at the Voice of Kenya, before transitioning to Television.

Catherine was recently diagnosed with cervical cancer. Nairobileo.co.ke wishes Catherine Kasavuli a speedy recovery.
