This comes days after President Ruto said that Government would not be blackmailed by the Opposition.

ODM leader Raila Odinga now says the event scheduled for Kamukunji on Wednesday, December 7, is not a Maandamano but a public consultative forum.

In a statement via Twitter on Monday, December 5, Odinga mentioned the that forum would bring Kenyans together to share their views on the state of the affairs of the country.

"The Kamukunji event on Wednesday is a public consultative forum. It is not a call to public protest. It is not maandamano.

"It is a coming together of Kenyans to share views on the state of affairs in the country," Odinga stated.

The former Premier warned the government that they would have themselves to blame if they planted people to disrupt the event.

This regime is trying to paint a horror movie picture of this event. The maandamano they're talking about is theirs, not ours.

"Should they try to plant people to disrupt the event or to take advantage of the meeting to create chaos, the government will have itself to blame," Odinga stated.

This comes days after President William Ruto said that Government would not be blackmailed by the Opposition.

"You will not blackmail this nation. You will not threaten Kenyans. We are determined to move forward," Odinga stated.
