The suspect found his brother in a compromising situation with their sister.

Police in Baricho, Kirinyaga County, are looking for a 31-year-old man who killed his elder brother after the deceased found him in a compromising situation with their younger sister.

In a statement by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) on Tuesday, Benard Njere killed his elder brother Samuel Irungu, 37, in cold blood, after he confronted him in an awkward situation with their 17-year-old step sister.

According to the DCI, the deceased also had an affair with the step sister and he could not stand the moment, something that led to a fight between the two.

"The deceased who also had a clandestine love affair with the 17-year-old and couldn’t come to terms with what he had witnessed descended on his brother with fury, prompting a fierce fight that led to his demise," DCI stated.

The father of Irungu reported the matter to the police, intimating that his eldest son was hit with a blunt object on the head, face and back.

The deceased died while undergoing treatment at the Karatina Sub-County Hospital.

According to the detectives who visited Irungu's home, the deceased had sometime last year impregnated the step sister, who experienced a stillbirth in March this year.

Police have launched a manhunt for Njere, who went on the run after committing the incident.
