A fuel tanker was Wednesday morning involved in an accident at Bluepost Hotel area along Thika- Nyeri Road.

A report by the Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) indicates that the accident involved multiple vehicles.

The accident resulted in the road being completely blocked as police swing into action to conduct rescue operations.

"There has occurred an accident involving multiple vehicles along the Nairobi – Thika - Nyeri Road (A2) near Thika town, at Bluepost Hotel. The accident has occasioned that stretch of the road to be completely blocked as the police conduct rescue operations," KeNHA said in a tweet.
