Uhuru said Mzee Wamae will be remembered for the key role he played in the revival of the New Kenya Cooperative Creameries.

Former President Uhuru Kenyatta has sent his condolences to the family of the late Former Mathira MP Eliud Matu Wamae.

Wamae was announced dead on Thursday morning after succumbing to an unknown illness at a Nairobi Hospital.

The renowned Nyeri politician died at a Nairobi hospital on Wednesday night.

The former President described Mzee Wamae as a hardworking and progressive Kenyan who made a significant contribution to the country’s socioeconomic development.

Uhuru in his message also wished the family peace of heart as they mourn the departed loved one.

He prayed to God to give the widow of Mzee Wamae the strength and courage to bear the loss.

“To Joyce Gathoni Wamae, the children and grandchildren, our thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time of grieving and loss,” read the statement.

Apart from his outstanding leadership as a Member of Parliament for Mathira Constituency for three terms, former President Kenyatta said Mzee Wamae will be remembered for the key role he played in the revival of the New Kenya Cooperative Creameries.
