This comes days after Governor Anne Waiguru was elected Chairperson of the Council of Governors (CoG).

Former Kirinyaga Woman Representative Wangui Ngirici has instructed her lawyers to withdraw her petition against Governor Anne Waiguru.

Ngirici had filed a petition seeking the nullification of the election of Ann Waiguru as Kirinyaga governor.

However, in a Facebook post on Wednesday, October 5, Ngirici noted that she had taken the decision that would benefit the Kirinyaga people.

"I have decided to take a bold step; One that does not serve to advantage me or disorganise and disenfranchise the Governor but one that serves full advantage to the people of Kirinyaga . I, therefore, have instructed my lawyers to withdraw my petition against GVN waiguru," she stated.
