Kindiki further said overloading of goods and excess passengers should now be a thing of the past adding that those found committing the offence will face the law.

The CS further fired a warning shot at Matatu operators saying those found contravening licensed PSV routes will be dealt with.

For matatus operating during the night without the requisite licence, the CS said they will also be dealt with in accordance with the law.

Further, PSVs operating without a valid license will also be in trouble this festive season.

Other offences include operating vehicles without valid inspection, installation of unlawful lights on motor vehicles, drink-driving, delayed removal of stalled vehicles and any other traffic infringements.

He asked motorists to abide by the regulations to avoid cases of accidents that have been on the rise during the festive season.
