"We will champion the cause of the boy child, with a special focus on the most vulnerable," Pastor Dorcas.

Pastor Dorcas Rigathi will encourage the mentorship of youth under the Boy Child Program in her office in an effort to transform the lives of thousands and influence them positively.

Speaking during a visit to the Mahanaim Institute along Thika Road, the Spouse of the Deputy President said mentorship would help boys and men view the world differently, where ‘nothing is impossible’.

"We plan to introduce our young men to mentors who will influence their lives to do the right thing and change the world. We will champion the cause of the boy child, with a special focus on the most vulnerable," she said.

Pastor Dorcas visited different sections of the Mahanaim Institute to see first-hand the training offered to the students. She participated in the brick-making process, where locally available materials are used.

Dorcas also visited the fashion and dressmaking section, music room, media studios and suites, Mahanaim International School, and Taekwondo training area, among others.

She emphasized the importance of holistically developing the boy child in order to establish strong families in society and grow our economy.

"We must develop young men in all aspects of their lives and provide them with opportunities to work," said Pastor Dorcas.

Yu Han Kim, chairman of the International Youth Fellowship East Africa, which is part of the institute, stated that the institute also provides mentorship for form four students.

Mr. Kim spoke passionately about the need for one to think deeply, have a strong heart, and work with others for the highest productivity in life.

Under the boychild program, Pastor Rigathi seeks to help boys and youth out of drug and substance abuse, alcoholism, and mental health challenges, among others.

Her office will collaborate with government and religious leaders, medical experts, and other organizations to rehabilitate the boychild and assist him in gaining skills through Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) and employment.
