CS Linturi was criticized after meeting Governor Kawira after the photo started doing rounds on social media.

Agriculture and Livestock Development Cabinet Secretary Mithika Linturi has explained why he hosted Meru Governor Kawira Mwangaza.

Speaking on Wednesday, December 21,  during a tree-planting exercise at Chuka University, Mithika stated that he would work with all governors across the country irrespective of their political affiliation.

The Agriculture CS noted that in his ministry, he has to work with all Governors in an effort to improve food production and promote food security in the country.

"I met Governor Kawira Mwangaza in Nairobi and I have seen some people talking ill about it. I’m a Cabinet Secretary and I will continue with my work. During our meeting we agreed on issues like desert locust invasions among other critical topics,” Linturi said.

Governor Kawira was also present during the tree planting exercise saying that Meru County must work with all leaders for the proper realization of development.

"For the proper realization and total development in Meru County, we leaders must stand united.

"I was humbled to join waziri Mithika Linturi during the launch of National tree planting exercise," the Meru Governor said.

The embattled Meru Governor was impeached by her MCAs last week and is currently being probed by an 11-member Senate committee.
