The Pakistani journalist was shot and killed in Kenya in October.

A Pakistan national has written to President William Ruto over the shooting of Arshad Sharif, a Pakistani journalist killed in Kenya on October 23.

In a letter dated December 22, the Pakistani, Muhammad Imran, stated that he was writing on behalf of Sharif's family seeking justice for the fallen journalist.

Imran said that the whole of Pakistan was grieving the demise of Sharif, pleading with President Ruto to unearth the truth behind the killing of the journalist.

"The underlying factors that led to the premeditated murder of senior journalist Arshad Sharif need to be unearthed for meeting the ends of justice we all behold. We look forward to seeing you help us afford at least a modicum of opportunity to feel peace and and solace by unearthing the truth and bringing the culprits to justice," read part of the letter.

The Pakistani said that the great responsibility was on President Ruto to provide information about the last moments of Sharif.

Imran requested the Kenyan Head of State to mandate relevant authorities to investigate the facts in the brutal incident.

Previously, the Pakistani government disputed Kenya's police report over the murder of Sharif.

The Pakistani government said Sharif's death was a result of murder and not mistaken identity as claimed by the Kenya police.

Pakistani interior minister Rana Sanaullah said that two Pakistani brothers Waqar and Khurram Ahmad, who were hosting Sharif, were not yet off the hook.
