Anyone interested in helping Baby Sagini will have to follow the due procedure and laws.

Baby Junior Sagini has now been placed under state protection, and anyone seeking to help him will have to ask for permission.

This is in light of the ongoing case in which his suspected attackers are facing charges in court.

Lawyer George Morara who is the counsel for the state said Sagini's safety ought to be observed by anyone interested in helping.

He has dispelled the assertion that some politicians from Kisii have stood in the way of the young boy's help, adding that the law must be followed now that he is under the custody of the state.

"At the moment, the government is the custodian of the baby because of the serious security breach he has suffered...There are laws and procedures to be followed before Baby Sagini is handed over to anyone wishing to help him," Morara told Nation.

Earlier, former Nairobi governor Mike Sonko had expressed his frustrations after he was allegedly denied access to the boy who he promised to help.

Sonko faulted some unnamed politicians from Kisii whom he accused of politicising the boy's matter for their own expediency.

"Despite my efforts to help I have not had access to them due to bad politics being played around by some dirty-minded politicians who think I'm in this case for PR and political mileage purposes but that won't stop me from pursuing the matter I'm sending their small Christmas gifts through a good Samaritan who is also helping on the ground Esnahs Nyaramba.

Last week Baby Sagini missed two important appointments with Dr. Kishor at the Westlands laser eye hospital coz we wanted the baby's review report to be emailed to China so that we can start the process of flying him there for the implant of artificial eyes. Politicising the issue and denying me access to him and his sister will not stop me from helping," Sonko had lamented.
