I have directed NTSA to suspend all operations of the Modern Coast bus company with immediate effect - CS Murkomen. 

Transport Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen on Friday, December 30, ordered the license of Modern Coast Express Limited suspended with immediate effect.

"Following the 28th December accident, I have directed NTSA to suspend all operations of the Modern Coast bus company with immediate effect, as investigations into the accident continue.

"The bus company must also ensure that all passengers who had booked with them are facilitated to allow for safe and seamless travel to their destinations," CS Murkomen stated.

This comes hours after one of the Modern Coast Buses was involved in an accident at River Masosa, Makutano Junction in Kisii County. The accident left one person and scores injured.

Modern Coast's license had been suspended in July 2022 and the suspension was lifted in November 2022 after the company complied with all the conditions that had been set for them.
