The chairman of the Nubian Council of Elders, Issa Abdul Faraj, has passed away.

Mourning his death on Monday, January 2, President William Ruto said that Mr. Faraj was a pillar of the Nubian community.

The Head of State said that the fallen Nubian leader left behind a great legacy by championing land rights in Kibra and Kibos.

He condoled with the family of Mr. Faraj, the Nubian community even as he wished them strength during the mourning period.

"We mourn with the Nubian Community following the passing of Issa Abdul Faraj. Mr Faraj, who served as the chairman of the Council of Elders, was a pillar of the community. He leaves behind a solid legacy in championing for land rights in Kibra and Kibos.

"I pray to God to give his family, friends and the Nubian community the strength to bear the loss. May his soul rest in eternal peace," President Ruto stated.
