UDA candidate for Kandara parliamentary by-elections Chege Njuguna has been declared the winner of the by-elections held on January 5.

Chege bagged the seat after garnering 21,650 votes against his closest challenger Titus Njau Mbuchu of Ford Asili who got 14,678 votes.

Kiharu Member of Parliament Ndindi Nyoro was among the first people to congratulate Njuguna upon his win. 

"Congratulations Chege Njuguna - UDA Candidate, on winning the Kandara MP seat decisively. Congratulations to the great people of Kandara for the confidence. Tunawashukuru sana. Chege Njuguna will work and deliver progress," the Legislator said.

In the Shella Ward by-election, Atwaa Mohamed of the ODM won the seat after garnering 1,053 votes.

His closest challenger was Mohamed Ali of ANC who got 573 votes.
