President William Ruto has created new departments in the Presidential Communication Service (PCS). 

President William Ruto on Monday, January 9, created new departments in the Presidential Communication Service (PCS). 

The Head of State made the changes in a bid to improve efficiency and communication with the public. 

David Nzioka has been appointed the Head of Digital and Innovations Secretary and will be expected to implement new digital strategies for PCS. 

Wanjohi Githae will be the Public Communications Director and will oversee the overall direction of the PCS. 

Eric Ngeno has been appointed as the Messaging Secretary and Speechwriter for President Ruto and will be responsible for creating speeches for the Head of State. 

James Kinyua has been appointed the Branding and Events Secretary and will manage events and handle the branding of PCS. 

Munyori Buku has been named the new Public Communications Secretary.

At the same time, President Ruto has made some reorganizations within his government assigning new roles to his Deputy Rigathi Gachagua.

In Executive Order No. 1 of 2023, the Head of State appointed Rigathi Gachagua to take charge of the coffee sector reforms.

The Deputy President will also head the Nairobi Rivers Commission, putting him in charge of the Kenya Kwanza government’s campaigns to clean rivers in the Capital City.

Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi on the other hand has been assigned to assist the President and the Deputy President in the coordination and supervision of Government Ministries and State Departments.
