They were aboard a motorbike attempting to escape when they were gunned down.

Police in Nairobi on Sunday shot dead two suspected thugs in the Dandora area after a botched robbery.

Reports indicate that one of the two killed had just been released from prison a month ago.

The two are said to have been using a motorbike to attack and rob residents of their assets in the Kibarange area.

The suspects have also been linked to the shooting of a 33-year-old man in Nairobi.

Nairobi region police commander Adamson Bungei said the victim was admitted at Mama Lucy Hospital, Nairobi, as a result of the injuries.

It is the shooting of the victim that prompted police officers to launch a probe in the area leading to the shooting incident that left two dead.

They were aboard a motorbike attempting to escape when they were gunned down.

Two homemade guns, two empty cartridges and three live bullets were recovered at the scene of the incident.

One of the slain suspects was identified as Yutman Mgaza, a serial jailbird.

Bungei said the slain man was released from prison in December 2022.
