The Law Society of Kenya will on Friday, January 20, 2023, hold peaceful protests across its eight branches.

This is according to LSK Chair Eric Theuri.

Theuri in a tweet said they will be protesting over inefficiencies across the land ministries.

"Advocates across the 8 LSK Branches will hold a peaceful protest march on 20.1. 2023 against delays, inefficiencies & collapse of service across the land registries. Members of the public are invited to join. The route and details will be shared," Theuri stated in a tweet that he tagged Senior counsel Ahmednasir Abdullahi and President William Ruto.

In a rejoinder to their planned protest, Lawyer Ahmednasir expressed support for the move.

He further challenged them to have such protests against the Judiciary which he has been criticising on grounds that it is "inefficient too".

"Good Mr President...but we should do the same against the judiciary...the entire court system has collapsed... completely," Ahmednasir said.

A section of Kenyans also backed Theuri for the planned protests saying they have suffered while seeking government services at the lands ministry.

"In full support. Ardhisasa irritates to the core. Lost a lot of business, transactions booked early last year still waiting, and even getting a search is impossible. Hoped for an overhaul of the bogus system after Karoney's exit but nothing yet," Sheila Mugo replied to Theuri's tweet.

Abu Nabii on his part said:

"Why am I not surprised? Of all government institutions land registry services have collapsed?"

"All transactions relating to registration of apartment leases at Mombasa lands registry stopped last several months now pending set up & operationalisation of non-existent sectional properties registry. Orders for a cutoff date were issued before facilities for implementation had been provided," Mohamed Balala claimed.
