“Is William Ruto serious when he lectures fellow head of states in Dakar on food security, that “we should not be discussing it 60 years after independence”? yet back home he is feeding his people with relief food! This Man is surely good at walking out of his skin Home& abroad!” Ledama tweeted.

President Ruto on Wednesday, January 25 told the African Presidents to focus on having a discussion on how agriculture is going to create jobs and revenue.

"The fact that we are discussing food so many of us as Head of States is not an interesting thing to do. 60yrs after independence we should be discussing about how agriculture is not just going to feed but create jobs, is going to create revenue, is going to add value and we are going to do exports,” Ruto stated.

The Dakar 2 Summit was organized by the Africa Development Bank to discuss how to exploit Africa’s agricultural potential and the plans and programmes that will help scale up production.
