“I am hugely excited to be joining a business that is helping capital providers make attractive returns."

Former ICT Cabinet Secretary Joe Mucheru has landed a new international job with a fintech company.

Mucheru is set to join London-based Jumo as its global president.

In a statement after the appointment, the CS welcomed the move saying he was ready to partake in the transformation agenda of the fintech.

“I am hugely excited to be joining a business that is helping capital providers make attractive returns at the same time as supporting measurable impact,” Mucheru says.

Jumo is a London-based fintech company that provides digital financial services such as loans, savings, and insurance products to emerging markets.

It partners with mobile network operators and financial institutions to bring financial services to underbanked populations in developing countries.

Jumo's mission is to increase financial inclusion and drive economic growth in these regions.

The appointment is a relief to the CS who left the government after a new regime under President William Ruto took over.

While still serving as a CS, Mucheru campaigned heavily for ODM leader Raila Odinga who lost narrowly to President William Ruto.
