Former President Uhuru Kenyatta on Tuesday, January 31 visited former Education CS George Magoha’s family in Lavington Nairobi.

In his speech, Uhuru promised to support Magoha’s wife Barbara and the family with anything they may need.

“Mama and your family, he (Magoha) was our colleague and we worked as a team. We were a team, we were together and as such you are also our team member. And with us, you have a family because we were a family and we will continue to stand with you and whatever it is that you may require of us you can count on us and we will be there for you just like Magoha was there for us and for Kenyans,” Uhuru stated.

Uhuru in his tribute described the late Magoha as a hardworking man who was committed to the education Sector.

“Magoha was a man of great integrity, a hard-working Kenyan, a sincere Kenyan a man who was dedicated to the goals of education in this country. I had the opportunity to first meet up with Magoha when he was the Vice Chancellor of Nairobi and we had the opportunity to interact a number of times. And by speaking with him I got realize that this was a man who was not interested in the position but rather what he can do with position,” Uhuru eulogized Magoha.

The former Head of State added that he knew he made the right choice when he appointed the late Education CS George Magoha to head the Education Ministry.

"He deserved that position, he even addressed the curriculum challenge we had. He did not do it to hate anyone, but in the interest of the children of Kenya Magoha did less of talking, but in execution, the deeds were seen," he said.

Uhuru was was in the company of his wife Margaret Kenyatta, Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka former CSs Fred Matiangi (Interior), Margret Kobia (Public Service), Ukur Yattani (Treasury) Eugene Wamalwa (Defense) Joe Mucheru (ICT).
