In January after his arrest, Police in Eldoret said Jacktone had confessed to murdering Chiloba

Jacktone Odhiambo, the Prime Suspect in the murder of Eldoret-based LGBTQ activist and fashion model Edwin Chiloba, now says he played no role in his murder. 

While appearing before Eldoret High Court Judge Richard Nyakundi, he denied that he murdered Chiloba between December 31st, 2022, and January 3rd, 2023. 

"I did not murder him,"  Odhiambo replied when asked by the judge to answer to the charges.

Odhiambo is being represented by Lawyer Mathai Maina while Chiloba's family is being represented by Mitullah Gilbert.

The judge directed that the case be mentioned on January 16th for consideration of the supply of all documents to the parties in the matter.

In January after his arrest, Police in Eldoret said Jacktone had confessed to murdering Chiloba whom together they lived at Noble Breeze Apartment in Eldoret, Uasin Gishu County.

According to Langas OCPD John Odhiambo, Jacktone confessed to executing the murder with the help of his two friends.

The suspect allegedly said he murdered Chiloba as revenge for betraying him.

Odhiambo who had been staying with the deceased for a period of one year.

Chiloba's body was discovered in a metallic box on Kipenyo-Katinga Road in Uasin Gishu County by boda boda riders, who saw an unmarked vehicle dumping the box on the side of the road.
