The meeting comes after eight ODM elected MPs from Nyanza met President William Ruto at State House.

Azimio la Umoja leader Raila Odinga on Thursday, February 9 arrived at Machakos County ahead of the Azimio Parliamentary Group (PG) meeting.

The opposition chief was welcomed by Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka, National Assembly Minority Leader Opiyo Wandayi, Suna East MP Junet Mohamed and Jubilee Party Secretary General Jeremiah Kioni.

In an update via Twitter after arriving , the former premier stated that everything is set for the two-day meeting, which will take place at Stoni Athi resort.

“All set for work in Machakos County. Glad to be here with my brother SKM Buffalo Soldier and others present. We are continuing our consultative process with Azimio legislators today and tomorrow,” said Raila.

National Assembly Minority Leader Opiyo Wandayi on Wednesday said that the meeting is aimed at ironing out in-house matters.

"We will be appraising ourselves on the gains we have made since elections and if possible the losses so that as we move forward in one accord. I encourage everyone to attend because it is going to be a very crucial meeting that happens once in a session of parliament," he said.

The meeting comes after eight ODM party elected MPs met President William Ruto at State House.

The MPs included; Gideon Ochanda (Bondo), Elisha Odhiambo (Gem), Mark Nyamita (Uriri), Caroli Omondi (Suba South) Felix Odiwuor (Jalang’o-Lang’ata), Paul Abuor (Rongo), John Owino (Awendo) and Tom Ojienda (Kisumu).

Kisumu East MP Shakeel Shabir who was elected as an independent candidate also attended the meeting.
