Uhuru Kenyatta on Saturday swore allegiance to Azimio la Umoja leader Raila Odinga and pledged to support his political ambitions.

Lawyer Ahmednassir Abdullahi has reacted after former President Uhuru Kenyatta pledged allegiance to Azimio la Umoja leader Raila Odinga.

In an update on Twitter, Ahmednassir opined that Uhuru’s move signifies that he does not consider William Ruto as the lawfully elected President.

“Retired President Uhuru Kenyatta, by swearing allegiance to Hon Raila, affirms to Kenyans that Raila is his president and President William Ruto is not Kenya's lawfully elected President,” Ahmednassir stated.

Uhuru Kenyatta on Saturday stated that he is out of active politics but would remain a follower of former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.

“Kustaafu sio kuchoka, hata wengine wakistaafu ndio nguvu inaongezeka. Na mimi hata kama nimewacha siasa active mimi bado ni mfuasi wa baba, sasa akiniambie twende, lazima twende," Kenyatta stated.

Uhuru added that he was not looking for any political seat but would support Raila Odinga if he runs for the presidency again.

“Mimi hakuna kiti natafuta lakini baba akitafuta mimi sina shida, mimi niko hapo,” he stated.
