According to Uhuru Kenyatta, the members who visited President Ruto at State House have never invested anything in the Jubilee Party.

Former president Uhuru Kenyatta has weighed in on the goings-on in the Jubilee Party. 

The party has had moments of infighting among its members, all culminating into the supposed ouster of Jeremiah Kioni as the secretary-general and subsequent formation of a new Nation Executive Council (NEC).

David Murathe was also reported to have been ejected from his vice-chairman post.

A section of Jubilee legislators earlier met with President William Ruto and his deputy Rigathi Gachagua to whom they pledged their support.

Pronouncing himself on the events, Uhuru, who is the Jubilee national chairman, asked the pro-government party insiders to quit.

Former president Uhuru Kenyatta acknowledge greetings from Vihiga residents.

"They can quit. They did not invest anything in the party," the former President said on Friday.  

This development could lay a fresh battle line with his successor with whom they have not been seeing eye to eye for a time now.

Ruto has been meeting a section of Jubilee pioneer members who had remained in the party after colleagues left to reunite in the United Democratic Alliance (UDA).

Nominated MP Sabina Chege and EALA's Kanini Kega are among the members who jumped ship to back Ruto.
