Nairobi senator Edwin Sifuna has taken it upon himself to sponsor a bright girl to school.

Petronila Mbinda who scored 419 marks in the 2022 KCPE missed admission at Mbooni Girls High School due to lack of fees.

The young girl who hails from Mukuru Kwa Njenga in Nairobi was slated to take up her slot at the school on February 6 but all was in vain.

Due to the sorry state of her family, her only option was to repeat her standard eight classes as the hopes to proceed to the next level kept fading by the day.

However, after her plight was aired on Citizen TV, Mbinda will now be smiling to school after the senator pledged to take up her education expenses.

The girl wrote her national examination at Merry Cliff Junior Academy in the slums.

Sifuna announced he would be taking the responsibility to school the girl.
