Runda Police Station OCS has been directed to facilitate the eviction process.

A Nairobi court has directed Runda Police Station OCS to facilitate the eviction of Aldai MP Maryanne Jebet Keitany from a house owned by Agriculture CS Mithika Linturi.

This after the court of a appeal declined to block her eviction on grounds that she is set to appeal a case in which it was ruled that they never got married when they were living together in the house.

Chief Magistrate Wendy Micheni considered previous orders dated September 27, 2022 and a ruling by Judge Maureen A. Odero dated January 20, 2023 in giving the eviction orders.

“It is hereby ordered that the Officer Commanding Station (OCS) Runda Police Station, Nairobi or any other officer from the said station of the rank above an Assistant Inspector of police be and is hereby ordered to provide security and police assistance in evicting Hon. Maryanne Jebet Keitany from House Number 16 Mae Ridge County Villas on LR No. 7785/1324 (IR NO123703) situate in Runda Estate Nairobi,’ the court order reads.

In January, the High Court granted Linturi permission to evict Keitany from the palatial home.

Keittany had appealed to continue living in the Runda home but that was declined.

Justice Odero stated that she lacked the  jurisdiction to hear the appeal.

The Aldai MP had claimed that she was married to Linturi arguing that she deserved ownership of the home.

The court however established that the two never lived as a husband and wife.
