Speculations had been rife that Kalonzo was not in support of the rallies being spearheaded by Odinga.

Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has pledged support for the ongoing Azimio la Umoja rallies across the country.

Addressing the press on Sunday, February 19 after a two-day retreat in Naivasha, Nakuru County, Kalonzo noted that the Wiper party had resolved to fully support the ongoing public engagement led by ODM leader Raila Odinga.

"The resolve and commitment by Wiper Movement members to firmly remain in the Azimio La Umoja - One Kenya Alliance and support the ongoing People's Barazas were some of the Resolutions we came to following our Party retreat.

"Despite systematic efforts to entice and return the nation back to a one-party state, we remain intact and united," Kalonzo told the press.

The former vice president accused President William Ruto of trying to revert back the country to a one party state.

He alleged that President Ruto had used public resources to try and split the Azimio la Umoja coalition.

“They have openly used a public institution and public resources to entice individual members In the name of development to break ranks with their political parties. They have systematically tried to erode all the gains of multiparty democracy and take this nation back to a one-party state,” Kalonzo stated.
