Raila’s tenure as the AU special envoy came to an end on Sunday, February 19 after AU Chairman Moussa Faki indicated that he will no longer be working with the union in the same capacity.

Nandi Senator Samson Cherargei has reacted to Azimio la Umoja leader Raila Odinga’s statement after his African Union (AU) High Representative for Infrastructure role came to an end.

In an update via Twitter on Thursday, February 23, Cherargei sensationally claimed that the former Prime Minister has accepted a decision for the first time in his life.

“Tinga for the first time in his life has accepted a decision,” Cherargei stated.

The Ruto ally added that Raila should now tarmac like other Kenyans and have enough time to do protests.

“Thank you, AU for firing Tinga for his continuous undermining of a legitimate government of Kenya led by HE Ruto. Tinga should also tarmac like any other Kenyan & also have more time for his maandamanos! Kimeumana,” he said.

Raila’s tenure as the AU special envoy came to an end on Sunday, February 19 after AU Chairman Moussa Faki indicated that he will no longer be working with the union in the same capacity.

The ODM leader in a statement on Thursday revealed that he had requested Faki to relieve him from the AU role.

"During our meeting on the sidelines of the 2nd Dakar African Infrastructure Financing Summit in Dakar, Senegal about three weeks ago, I indicated the challenges to my continued availability for the role of AU High Representative for Infrastructure Development in Africa," Raila said in a letter to Mohamed Faki.
