Radio 47 is a sister station of TV47 that is operating under the banner of Cape Media Group.


Top Radio Maisha Journalists have called it quits in preparation for a major shift to Radio 47 that is set to be launched soon. 

Radio Maisha being an established station is facing a huge number of staff exit owing to the tough financial situation facing the Standard Media Group which is said to have not paid its workers for months. 

Among the top journalists who left Radio Maisha is Linda Oriaso who was the programme controller. She called it quits in December and joined Radio 47. 

She is among the top minds at the new station that is crafting a strategy that will see them grab its rightful share of the market once launched.

Another top journalist who is set to work for Radio 47 after ditching Radio Maisha is Ali Hassan Kauleni, a veteran sports editor and Swahili Guru.

Kauleni has been known for his unique style of broadcasting matches with his voice becoming synonymous with many radio listeners in the country.

Drive Show hosts Billy Miya and Mbaruk Mwalimu have also left the station. A farewell party for the two was held Tuesday. The two are set to join Radio 47 though it is not clear whether they will still work together.

Another big name leaving the station is Emmanuel Mwashumbe who hosted the breakfast show with Sugar Boy.

Mwashumbe will also be joining Radio 47. 

News Reader Beatrice Maganga also left the station and has already joined Radio 47.
