  • Senator reveals politicians have been fighting over Uhuru's speech
  • He also questioned who will be designated to read Uhuru's speech at Nyangarama's funeral

Kericho County Senator Aaron Cheruiyot expressed concerns over who President Uhuru Kenyatta will designate to read his speech at the burial of Nyamira Governor John Nyagarama.

On Thursday, December 24 2020, Senator Cheruiyot opined that politicians have been fighting over Uhuru's speech since the president is on a break.

"So who is carrying Pres Uhuru's speech to Nyamira today? In this administration's era of pettiness on steroids, H.E 's speech is like Bhang, hidden n known only to a select few. Third-grade wannabee politicians fight all night on who will read it at the next day's function," the Kericho senator shared.

His sentiments come in the backdrop of a walkout by mourners on Tuesday at the funeral of Machakos Senator Boniface Mutinda when Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka.

Walkout

In a video shared online, Kalonzo was reading President Kenyatta's speech when mourners started walking away.

Those who witnessed the events said the mourners protested why Kalonzo was reading the speech and not Deputy President William Ruto who was present.

The funeral service was attended by impeached Nairobi Governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko, Machakos Governor Alfred Mtua, Senate Speaker Ken Lusaka, Bungoma Senator Moses Wetang'ula and Narok Senator Ledama Olekina.
