Matiang'i arrived on Tuesday morning to honour DCI summon.

A commotion ensued at the DCI headquarters on Tuesday morning after Former Interior CS Fred Matiang'i arrived to honor the summon issued to him.

Matiang'i arrived in the company of lawyers who were determined to accompany him to the grilling.

However, a commotion ensued after the DCI officers blocked the former CS from entering the headquarters with his lawyers.

The officers directed that not all lawyers will be allowed to enter the headquarters.

The lawyers however stood their ground and insisted that while the crowd that had accompanied them won't be allowed in, it was important that all lawyers be allowed in.

That caused a stand off as the lawyers and police engaged on the best way forward.

Matiang'i was accompanied by Lawyer Okong'o Omogeni, Lawyer Otiende Amollo, Lawyer Steve Mogaka, and Danstan Omari.

Several other lawyers were also present.

Owing to the huge number of lawyers, Senator Okong'o was tasked with drafting a list of advocates who will be allowed to accompany the Former CS to the grilling.

Former CS Eugene Wamalwa was also part of the team.

Pictures seen by Nairobi Leo show that Lawyers Mogaka, Otiende, and Okong'o are the lead legal team in the grilling exercise.

Wamalwa was also at the grilling table.

Besides having a battery of lawyers to defend him, Matiang'i was accompanied by several bodaboda riders who showed solidarity with him.
