In 2021, Kalonzo was summoned to the DCI headquarters where he was handed a letter clearing him over the NYS land saga.

The office of the Directorate of Public Prosecution Noordin Haji has denied reports that it is probing an alleged land-grabbing case pitting former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka.

In a statement on Twitter, the ODPP termed the reports as false.

"ALERT! The ODPP would like to inform the public that the information on the attached poster is misleading and untrue," the ODPP stated.

The post had indicated that the office had received files involving the grabbing of an NYS land in Yatta by the former vice president.

The post indicated that the ODPP pledged to review the file and advise on the way forward.

"I have received a report detailing the investigation outcome of land grabbing allegations of NYS land by the former Vice President Hon Kalonzo Musyoka. I will review the file and advise on appropriate action," the fake letter indicated.

The Wiper party leader was in August 2021 cleared by the Directorate Criminal Investigations (DCI) on allegations that he grabbed a piece of land in Yatta.

The allegation was made by Deputy President William Ruto leading to an inquiry by the DCI which questioned several people and officials from organisations, including Kalonzo himself.

Kalonzo was summoned to the DCI headquarters where he was handed a letter clearing him after detectives traced the transaction trail in the piece of land.

“The complaint was comprehensively investigated and the final findings were that the subject property is privately owned by Pastev Holdings limited after buying from a company known as Betraco Limited,” DCI boss George Kinoti said in a letter addressed to Musyoka Murambu and Associates, a law firm that represented Kalonzo in the matter.
