Lesedi Group has announced cancelling its engagement with musician Lawrence Njuguna alias DJ Fatxo over his implication on the death saga of Jeff Mwathi.

DJ Fatxo had been assigned to the real estate firm as its brand ambassador until Friday, March 10, when it announced cutting ties with him.

In a statement, Lesedi said they were acting in line with their values and principles which they would otherwise dented if they continued to partner with him.

"We at Lesedi Group Limited would like to address recent events regarding our previous brand ambassador, DJ Fatxo.

We are deeply saddened and concerned by the allegations that have been brought against him," the company said.

The company said it took the accusations against Fatxo very seriously, and thus they realized the decision to dissociate themselves from him.

Mwathi, whose death became a national conversation, died on February 22 after he fell off a residential apartment in Kasarani.

He met his tragic end while in the company of six people in the house of DJ Fatxo.

Initially, it had been alleged the 23-year-old committed suicide by jumping off the building, new twists emerging later that he might have been murdered.

Homicide detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) took over the investigations into the death following a directive from Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki.
