Various parts of Eastlands, Kasarani, Karen, Westlands, Makadara, Ruaraka, Kahawa West, Mathare and Starehe areas have been affected. 

The heavy downpour being witnessed in Nairobi County has occasioned power blackouts in 86 estates, Kenya Power and Lightning Company (KPLC) has announced.

KPLC in a statement announced that power supply had been disrupted in various parts of Eastlands, Kasarani, Karen, Westlands, Makadara, Ruaraka, Kahawa West, Mathare and Starehe constituencies. 

The list of specific estates affected are Plot 10 -Villa Franca Main Line-affected areas, Imara Daima, AA of Kenya Reinforcement and environs;

In Ngong Vet- Ngong Town Main line, the affected areas are  Ngong, Kerarapon, Kangawa rd, Olepolos, Villa Franca Estate, Mukuru, Goodlife apartments, St. Bakita Bulbul and environs.

Along Juja Rd - Huruma main line, the affected areas are Moi Airbase, Mathare, Juja rd, 6th Street Eastleigh, Malewa Rd and environs, Wangige - Lower Kabete main line-affected areas: Wangige, Gathiga and environs.

Kamunde Rd - Huruma main line is also off. The affected areas are Kariobangi market, Kamunde rd, Mathare north area, Kiamaiko est, Korogocho and environs.

Kamiti Rd - Kiu River main line has also been affected sending the following areas into a blackout. They are Kirigiti, Kiu River, Kahawa Surari and the environs.

In Kola - Wote main line, the affected areas are Kola town, Wote town and the environs.

Along the Kitengela - Epz Mainline, the affected areas are Athi River, Kitengela town, Kajiado, Old Namanga rd, Kaputilei, Jokawa est, Sinkeet farm, Naivas Kitengela and environs

Supply restoration is in progress and Kagwe - Githunguri's main line with affected areas being Githunguri town, Kaburu, Githiga, Ikinu and the environs.

KPLC said power restoration is underway and the public will be updated in due time.
