Former Daughters of Moi chair lady Brenda Majune has defected from KANU to President William Ruto’s United Democratic Alliance Party (UDA). 

Speaking to the media on Wednesday, March 15 at the UDA headquarters in Nairobi, Majune announced that she would form the Daughters of His Excellency William Ruto alongside First Daughter Charlene Ruto.

The former KANU Women Congress Treasurer stated that the movement would work with disadvantaged women in arid and semi-arid areas where the effects of climate change are biting.

“I will be reaching out to my sister Charlene Ruto so that we start the Daughters of His Excellency William Ruto to work with women in arid counties to combat climate change which has created a lot of conflicts," she stated.

Majune vowed to work with President Ruto noting that she joined UDA because of his vision for the country.

“I have come to UDA because I believe in the vision of President William Ruto. Thank you, Secretary General Cleophas Malala for the warm welcome, assure the President that we’re ready to work with him," she stated.
